Eye Candy in Kandy This is a lovely, clean, pretty hotel set up high on a hill, a little out of the way from downtown Kandy, but oh those views. Room 13 was L shaped with a bed on each side, sofa in between, balcony and plenty of room to lounge about. Vaulted, beamed ceilngs made the room feel both spacious and cozy. If only we weren't so eager to explore the city, I would have happily spent the day lolling about in this charming room, if only to gaze out on Kandy below. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

La vue est incroyable! le bâtiment est très ancien mais parfaitement entretenu. Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans cet hôtel pour pouvoir profiter de Kandy. Notre chambre était magnifique avec une vue incroyable sur Kandy. Les repas sont un peu gênant car le personnel est très à l’affût des attentes et besoins mais peut être un peu trop.

Paradise in Kandy My family and friends (party of 16) stayed at the Richmond for three nights in December of 2019. The hotel is located in the hills with fabulous views and is 10-15 minutes from the city center. The hotel is beautifully decorated in a British colonial motif with an inviting lobby. The staff was friendly and attentive. A few of our rooms were on the bottom floor which felt like a private area. A delicious breakfast is included with the stay. The price is fantastic for all that is included. For many of us the Richmond was our favorite hotel or at least tied for first (we stayed at 7 different places).
